Sumac berries grow wild in parts of Turkey and the Middle East – the ground spice is used in Lebanese, Syrian, Turkish and Iranian food. Our Sumac is a deep red berry granule with a wonderfully sharp & tangy taste.
Ground Sumac is rubbed into meats for grilling and is good with potatoes, beets, and in mixed bean salads. You can also add it to rice and couscous for fantastic colour and flavour.
*Unlike many other brands, we don’t add salt to our Sumac – so you can use it in a wider range of recipes!
